Guest Posted December 2, 2002 Posted December 2, 2002 I've install phpdev on my win98 machine and everything went ok in the installation i have this... New Install 1. Please customize your new installation with the following options: Import Catalog Database Import the Catalog database structure which includes tables and sample data. Automatic Configuration The information you submit regarding the web server and database server will be automatically saved into both Catalog and Administration Tool configuration files. 2. Please enter your web server information: Webserver Root Directory The directory where your web pages are being served from, usually /home/myname/public_html. Webserver Catalog Directory The directory where your catalog pages are being served from (from the webserver root directory), usually /home/myname/public_html/catalog/. Webserver Administration Tool Directory The directory where your administration tool pages are being served from (from the webserver root directory), usually /home/myname/public_html/catalog/admin/. WWW Catalog Directory The virtual directory where the osCommerce Catalog module resides, usually /catalog/. WWW Administration Tool Directory The virtual directory where the osCommerce Administration Tool resides, usually /catalog/admin/. 3. Please enter your database server information: Database Server The database server can be in the form of a hostname, such as db1.myserver.com, or as an IP address, such as 192.168.0.1. Username The username is used to connect to the database server. An example username is mysql_10. Note: If the catalog is to be imported (selected above), the account used to connect to the database server needs to have Create and Drop permissions. Password The password is used together with the username, which forms the database user account. Database The database used to hold the catalog data. An example database name is catalog. and when i click continue i have this.. osCommerceOpen Source E-Commerce Solutions New Install Step 1: Database Import A test connection made to the database was NOT successful. The error message returned is: Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using password: YES) Please click on the Back graphic to review your database server settings. If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company. Any help would be appreciate Regards

I have phpdev4.2.3 on Win2k and I installed it perfectly, can you please share me what did you do to fix this errors?? Ive tried to change the file attributes of all of my "configure.php" to "READ-ONLY" and nothing happens still I get the same errors. And to anyone out there who knows what do I need to do to fix this stuff. I'll appreciate it, Thank you!
Guest Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 Yes everything is ok... in the setup do not put any password and continue the installation , it will tell you that it is a success but the 2 configure.php files dont have the right chmod but it tells you to rename your 2 configure.php and it will create 2 new one with the right chmod Regards
