Permissions Error

I'm stumped again. After an upgrade which seemed to cause more problems than it fixed, I backed out, and got it back looking the way I want it. The problem is that I now have this error again. It was not there before the upgrade, but it was one of the problems after the upgrade. I did not expect it to re-appear after I put things back, but there it is.

Warning Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/montanos/public_html/store/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I tried changing permissions. We have an SSL Certificate in place, and when I try to buy something, there is a lock in place.

I've tried changing the permissions, and nothing changes. I just want this warning to go away.

The permissions are not related to ssl.

Change the permissions via your webhosts control panels filemanager. Change the file to 644, and if that does not fix it, try 444.

As for the lock, do you mean the padlock at the bottom rhs of the browser window?

444 worked this time, but I thought I had tried every combination. Thanks for the tip.

The reason I asked about ssl is that when I log into my store's admin panel, in the lower left corner it says

--You are not protected by a secure SSL connection.--

I thought that might be part of the problem, and I'm glad to know that it is not.

When I am in the store and go to buy something, I get https and yes the lock shows at the bottom right.

I'm just happy that the warning went away.

Thanks.
