PDF newsletters ? Link to account set up ?

Hi I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of how to do 2 things

1) I would like to send PDF newsletters I read a previous thread about this but I am a newbie and don't fully get what I am supposed to do also there was no response to weather it works or not. Previous thread also it would be fine for me to hard code it as described in the thread because I will only use this for newsletters and could call all my newsletters the same thing I hope this makes sense as I am not sure of the correct terminology.

 

2)I would like to have a graphic link similar to an advertising banner under the info box or in the bottom box on the left hand side (beside the words all rights reserved) that would say sign-up for our newsletter I would have this link to the account sign-up page. I imagine that this is probably pretty easy for but not for me.

 

 

Thanks for taking the time to read my post all ideas and help are greatly appreciated hopefully one day I will be able to have the knowledge to give help back.
