need help on the problem

After i install the oscommer.we couldn't use it,the web is:

Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.

 

follow other people's suggestion.

 

I modify register_globals = on in PHP.ini.

and add: suPHP_ConfigPath /home/usename/public_html .in .htaccess

 

but it is useless.

then i modify to: php_flag register_globals on in .htaccess

 

but it still useless.

 

please help me,how to solve the problem,thanks a lot.

 

i use php5+my SQL.hostmonster hosting.
