Coolbox Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Hi Oscommerce is such a greate product and I prefer to use it instead of the alternatives however.... I have been looking at all kinds of webshop soutions, oscommerce, zen cart, open cart, osc2nuke oscmax and phpshop and can't find any that gives the oppertunity to calculate total price based on text input from the customer. Eg. width X length X (price pr. square meters) = total price. How can it be that no one have ever made that? I know several people have asked for it in the forums without getting a solution. Are there anyone that can solve it? I like all the contributions that you make for oscommerce and hope that I can give some back some day...
porpoise1954 Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Any ideas??? You would need to add "width" and "length" as product attributes to make them available in the db for calculations. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Porpoises are most happy when wet! \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _

Thanks porpoise1954 for your answer. How do I do it in praksis? I know mysql, php, html and all that but I don't know the structure of oscommerce very well. I would like to add a new type of attribute as a text-field in the admin page so that I can add that attribute to a product. And how do I manipulate the way this new attribute affects the price...eg. multiplying the price and so. If you can point to a book og any guides about that I would apreciate.

You would probably be best off using a contribution such as QTpro v1.0 - Quantity Tracking Professional to enable you to add attributes with with values so that the pricing can be calculated automatically from the attribute combinations. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Porpoises are most happy when wet! \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _ \ _

Hi porpoise1954 I have installed QTpro Quantity Tracking Professional but don't see any posibility to add text fields or multiplying attributes. Could you specify a little? I really appreciate your help.
bjeli Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Have you found any way to calculate price based on width?
