lull45209 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Ok, so I've installed and configured OSC for a client --- and the admin portion is dandy. No issues. When I click the "Catalog" I get : Unable to connect to database server! So, I opened the includes/configure.php file -- added the exact same info that is in the configure.php file in the admin --- and no dice. Same error. Why is this happening -- I can't for the life of me figure out what the issue might be (and I'm a programmer!) Thanks for the help in advance.
lull45209 Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 Here's the URL: http://pawshpup.com/store/ I get the error there, but when I go into the admin (inside of the store), no database errors; and I put in the correct connection information (username, password, DB name, host); I haven't ever had that happen before.
satish Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 chek your configure.php file in user section probably the db parameters are wrong. else the file permission needs to be cheked. lull45209 Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 What user section would have a configure file -- all I see is the store/includes/configure.php? What should the file permission be?
satish Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 permission to be same as that in admin. Atleat read is needed for all groups. Satish Ask/Skype for Free osCommerce value addon/SEO suggestion tips for your site. Check My About US For who am I and what My company does.
lull45209 Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 Updated the permissions to match each other -- and it still gives me the same error. I really can't figure out where or how this is happening; I know how the site works (overall) and there isn't anything out of the ordinary. And if the Admin is fine, I really don't get why the store has issues ...
germ Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Look in /store/includes/local/configure.php See if the DB parameters are OK in there. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
