URGENT HELP NEEDED

I would really appreciate any help that people can give me here. i lost my shop, and don't know what to do.

here is what happened...

I had an error come up with the index page, tried fixing it, but don't know about html so thought I would just replace it with the original file and then fix it from there.

now i have a plain white screen and nothing there.

i have no idea what to do, can anyone help me get my shop back?

Was your site a standard installation or did you buy a template etc and install that?

i have a file on my pc for all the original oscommerce files, i just uploaded the file from that that was causing problems and overwrote my file....

have i completely stuffed up, do i need to do a new install?

Can you open the /index.php file on your computer? Is there any code in there?

It's strange that absolutely nothing comes up. You should at least get some kind of "error in xxxxxx on line xx" error.
