Easy Populate not so easy

Hi,

I'm trying to upload products using Easy Populate. Installed the contrib and seems to be running fine. Thing is, after I download the complete csv file and edit it exactly how it hsould be with the EOREOR at the end of each statement. When I upload though nothing happens. No products change or anything. And sometimes It says

No products_model field in record. This line was not imported: | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

Makes no sense cause I have info in that feild and that feild exists. ... AHHHH

I suspect you edited the file using excel.

This wonderful package has a nasty habit of adding extra lines at the end of the file.

Have look using notepad or other simple editor.

Try creating a 2 line file containing just the first 2 lines e.g header and one product line.

Change one character in the description file and upload it.

If it works start getting more adventurous. EP does not delete products unless you set it them to inactive.

Enjoy

He means that Excel, in typical Microsoft fashion, buggers up files after you edit them. It's best to avoid programs like Excel or Word when you're trying to work with these kinds of files.

Try taking the original CSV and opening it in Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac. Both are installed with the OS.
