Problem with free shipping

I have a really wierd problem with the free shipping, my store is set up for free shipping over £50.

If I add a product to the cart that is over £46 then goto checkout it shows correctly as shipping flate rate £3.95 then click continue to go to payment information, then if I click back on the browser shipping changes to free on orders over £50 then stops at this throughout checkout so customers get free delivery on £46 spend.

I aint got a clue why it's happening only above £46. Can anyone test this and see if theres is doing the same please or offer any advice please.

Update!

It's £46.05 or above for some reason! after some more testing if you continue after it's changed to free delivery to payment information again then click back on the browser it returns to flate rate £3.95 again!!!

Ok I have worked out why it's over £46.05

£46.05+£3.95 shipping = £50 (my free shipping amount!) so therefore when you press back during checkout it passes back that value to work out the shipping amount so decides it's free shipping but really the product in the cart's value is £46.05

Can anyone shed any light on this please, I have no idea where to start looking for this bogus order total it's passing back.

chek the order total module setting in admin.

Also probably YOur code has been modified and is not following oscommerce std order total approach.

I am experiencing the same problem on a customer's shop - have you been able to figure it out?

Maybe we could compare our module order to find out if that's the reason?

Mine is

tax: 1

subtotal: 2

shipping: 3

total: 1000.

At least you already found out when and why it happens - thanks a lot for the hint. If I find out how to solve it in the meantime, I will of course let you know.
