jwalker Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Hello I have finished my site and just do not think it has that professional look. The address is www.ginelectronics.com/catalog . Any input would be appreciated. I found some OS Commerce templates and had a few questions. First, are they compatible with the regular OS Commerce software/stores. Second, if I install one, will it be compatible with, or erase, my current database. And last, would the templates be compatible with the contributions I have added. I have a complete store up & running but I am just disappointed in the look. I got rid of alot of the boxes because the slow upload time, but would like the categories box and header to be different. . . Johnnie Walker :'(

jwalker Posted November 15, 2007 Author Posted November 15, 2007 Hello I seen these OS Commerce Templates on Ebay , a few of them as this one http://cgi.ebay.com/20-OScommerce-Template...1QQcmdZViewItem They have a professional look to them, which we are looking for an obviously lack. However, there is no info as to who made them and if they are compatible with the standard OS Commerce Software. I know they are a complete software download, i.e., they come with OS 2.2 (I think that is the number).
digilee Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Don't buy any templates without searching for free versions or better still, you'll probably find it easier to install OSC and create your own designs. oh ... and dangerstudio had a load of free templates but his site seems to have gone offline. jwalker Posted November 15, 2007 Author Posted November 15, 2007 I am hesitant. I have OS installed and up & running, but I just don't know enough about PHP to create my own designs. . .
digilee Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 No time like the present to learn, also, you don't really need to know php but even a little css knowledge will go a long way. SolarFrenzy Solar powered gadgets at down to earth prices. CheekyNaughty Promoting British Design
