I don't see Paypal purchases in the orders list

If there is a Paypal account attached to the shopping cart should I be able to see purchases in the customer orders list?

If someone purchase a product and did not return to your web site from paypal -then you will not have any order record.Instal IPN cotntrybution.That will not make automatic return, but at least you will have a record.

There is a setting in your paypal account to send your customers back to a page on your website after they are done there. You need to put your checkout success URL (http://your website.com/checkout_success.php) in the setting: return URL on paypal page: try going in to Edit Profile then Website Payment Preferences to find it and they will automatically return to your site.

 

Hope that helps! I also recommend the Paypal IPN contribution as it will give a pre-order on your end even if they never complete the sale. You could then take that info and do several things such as contact customer if you want to ask why they did not go through with purchase or at least see what they were interested in. However, these Pre-orders do show up on their accounts as orders if they go in to review their account, of course they are not charged for them. I do not leave them there long as I do not think it is good to do so. I just delete the pre-orders after I print a copy for my references and the items are still in their shopping cart so they can come back and order when they are ready.
