Remove page request counter

I've searched all over the forums and files but can't find a fix for this . I would like to remove the text [xxx requests since ....] in the lower right hand corner.

but leave the background unchanged.

Can anyone point me in the right direction..

You need to remove the reference to the counter in catalog/includes/footer.php.
