ufodepot Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 After I installed OS Commerce on the Linux Server the follo0wing appear at the top of the storefront. I don't know how to get to /home/content/s/c/i/scitechadmin/html/catalog/install to fix it or how to set permissions for this /home/content/s/c/i/scitechadmin/html/catalog/includes/configure.php. Any help is appreciated. Here is the full Wanrings: Warning: Installation directory exists at: /home/content/s/c/i/scitechadmin/html/catalog/install. Please remove this directory for security reasons. Warning Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/content/s/c/i/scitechadmin/html/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Thanks, Hope
bpopelar Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Use and FTP client (e.g., gFTP, cuteftp) to connect to your web site and rename or remove the installation directory and change the protection on the configure.php file to read only
ufodepot Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 I changed the Install file. I don't understand how to change the permissions. I went into catalog/includes/configure.php, but I don't see where to change the permissions. I don't understand where or how to do the following: 2. Reset the permissions on catalog/includes/configure.php to 644 (if you are still getting the warning message at the top of the page after setting this configure.php files to 644 then set the catalog/includes/configure.php file to 444 which is read only - this happens on some servers that have been updated for security reasons). 3. Set the permissions on catalog/images directory to 777 4. Set the permissions on admin/images/graphs directory to 777 5. Create the directory admin/backups and set the permissions to 777 (this is the folder to store the database backup of your store in the "Tools" section of the store admin). Thanks, Hope
