Hi Lindsay,

I liked your Logo right away. I feel that, artistically, it gave license to your orange/green theme. I do like the theme, but the orange does seem to be a little too much. Almost like that if you could combine a couple info boxes to reduce the total amount of orange. [i know that someone else will be coming alone to mention that your site is very similar to the stock version (which I personally don't think is necessarily a bad thing.)]

The favicon in my address bar for your site is from hostMonster. Tisk, tisk.

I rant to store owners who don't display their physical address loud and proud. (You had one on your tripod site.) (But, I don't need to know that it is your home.)

Your Pet Photo Contest ended APRIL 2007. Who won and what did they win?

The wide bordered box looks out of place. Try a thin orange border maybe.

And to answer your question regarding the gift certificates, they look pretty good. Maybe even better with the house, fence, and tree to match your beautiful logo. They kinda reminded my of lottery scratch-offs where the amount is shown. They are nice, just as they are.

Yeah, don't worry about the stock layout thing, as long as you have a logo and different colors I'm not going to complain too much. I like the certificates, I also likes the above idea of adding the house fence etc. I must say the sugar glider on the front page is adorable!! The things I didn't care for were the category images, and please, I'm only trying to help you, they honestly looked like they were made in MSPaint. also, some of those images are broken.

If the gift certs and other images were made in Paint, then you did a wonderful job, but the category images, like when you click on dogs, those pictures are mediocre at best. Also, instead of calling them Gift Cards, you may want to call them Gift Certificates, I know you probably did this because you didn't want the categories box to become very wide, or have two lines. I just don't want your customers to become confused by The term Gift Card which often refers to a Credit Card Type item with a fixed amount. That aside, I think your site is really coming together.

Thank you for all of the comments! I really value them.

As far as the gift certificates, i will def. be changing the wording to CERTIFICATE since htat is what it is called on the graphic. I also THOUGHT about adding the fence and/or the house, but when i did, it started to look cluttered. Maybe i'll play around with that a little more.

As for the category images, i was going for a basic, child-like theme that sort of matched the banner. Did you look at the small animals category?? They are a little bit different, and more involved frm an illustration standpoint. SOme of the image links are broken because i am still comming up with the category images, so some dont exist.

I WANT CHANGE THE FAVICON BUT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW!! I even made a cute little house and created a favicon file and uploaded it but nothing changed i just have no idea.. i am open to ideas on how to get that done though! I HATE that the hostmonster icon is there..

I do like the idea of thinning out the boarder of the info box in the center of the page.

THANKS SOOO MUCH FOR ALL OF THE INPUT.

I know that my own opinions are sort of biased, i mean i did somewhat MAKE the thing. I also thought about changing the layout and making it completely different from the basic oscommerce site, but really since i am just begining in the whole rehlm of php, i think its best left to the pros now.

Hi again,

I looked at your category images a little closer ... boy the things a person can miss ... those "Small Animal" category images are cute!!

To place YOUR favicon on the site requires the following code to be put between the <head> and </head> tags of everypage:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico">

thanks a bunch. I will see what i can do about the other category graphics. I am not sure what i can do though other than making them a LOT more detailed, or just making them plain text... I'm sort of torn there.

I am also going to try to change that favicon the way you said to do it.. we'll see.. the last time i tried to do it, something at hostmonster overroad what i did.. i must be missing a step
