credit card module and accepting payments

Hi,

I installed the oscommerce and the credit card module with it. The test payment works just fine, i receive an email to the store email address with all the credit card information that I ask people to enter.

Other than taking that information and punching it into my credit card machine at the real store, what is there to accept payments on the fly? So I don't have to go through each email and punch in the credit card numbers.

I know there is paypal, but i am selling binoculars and optical equipment to hunters and I don't think many of them have a paypal account.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Eric

Eric,

what used to be Verisign, is now also PayPal (see Payflow Link and PayFlow Pro) on PayPal's Merchant site.

that is just one example...

but what you would need is an online merchant account and a payment processor. Your bank should be able to tell you what merchant gateways they work with, then go from there... like if you have a Wachovia bank account, they work w/ Nova...

but most merchant gateways can send payments to any bank...

All merchant accounts are going to cost you something to integrate, and something to per month.

but as of note, customers do NOT need to have a PayPal account in order to pay you if you integrate PayPal - it just asks them to set up an account endlessly...

famousb is right.

I use Paypal and I know some of my customers don't have an account.

Paypal gives them the option of paying with a credit card without an account with them.
