SSL Configuration

I have recently created my website and have successfully implemented oscommerce. I also recently obtained a SSL certificate from geotrust which I have placed on my site. In trying to establish my merchant account I was told that the ssl certificate was not implemented into the site properly. I have looked through this forum and have found some recommendations, but they only served to create more errors within the site.

 

Can anyone provide some info on what direction I should take? I am a little new to this, so please be as simplistic as possible.
