Google meta name description update

A fairly straight forward question. When I uploaded my site I had the meta name description set incorrectly, and the incorrect one is showing when my site comes up in Google search results.

 

I changed it around a week ago, but google is still displaying the old/incorrect description.

 

Does anyone know how long it will take google to update, or if indeed I can force it to?

Generally, if you have a page listed on google and you make a change like this to it, the change should be seen within a month. But you can't force it. Google will change it when they are ready and it may not be either description at that time.
