sts pathway and folders

I am pretty new to using osc and sts so please forgive me ignorance!!

 

I am trying to make changes to osc so that it matches my other side of my site. I have installed sts templates and am trying to get the hang of them following the instructions and the forums but have come unstuck very early on!

 

It says in the instructions that you can make a choice of folder in the admin section in the defalut mode. I have gone to the admin section of osc but am stuck as to which file you need to change to specifiy what folder etc?

 

It also says that I need only to change one file to make changes to the osc and the file is /catalog/includes/sts_template.html. The path that I have is /catalog/includes/sts_templates/test/sts_template but when I make changes to that file on dreamweaver and then upload it nothing changes?

 

I know I have installed sts as the shop has now reverted to the original look of the osc store from how I had changed it, but I am just stuck as to where the correct paths are to make the changes.
