Protx Direct no longer working after more to php5

Posted (edited)

Protx Direct v 4.2 (I think) was working fine but for various reasons we had to upgrade to php5. Now it doesn't work at all!

What happens is that after the customer has filled in all the card details and confirmed, what they see is https://www.domainname.co.uk/catalog/protx_process.php? action=process&info_message=

Your%20card%20is%20being%20authenticated%20by%20the%20issuing%20bank

(all on one string - I split it it make appear here) in the browser's address bar, but nothing shows in the browser window. Makes no difference if I switch on debug mode.

I tried removing v4.2 and installing v4.4 of the contrib, but that did no good.

I tried asking Protx for help, but of course now they're owned by Sage, that was a complete waste of time.

For now we're using Protx Forms, but that's not ideal.

Any suggestions?

Post your query in the official support thread - which is well maintained by Tom Hodges.

How almost helpful of you. Presumably you must have been able to identify this support thread, so why didn't you provide a link to it? That would have been helpful to me and to anyone else looking here later.

Because of the nearly useless search facility on this forum, it is well-nigh impossible to find anything here. Generally I end up havng to use Google to search here, but there are so many results that it could take ages to find the right place to look.

I have replied to you in the main support thread (as listed in the contrib readme.txt file in the download).
