How to let the Product List Filter show the categoryname of the parent_id.

Hello forum users,

 

I am currently working on a shop and I would like that the Product List Filter shows the parent catergoryname instead of the subcatergory name.

I found out that parent_id in the database is the one responsible for the main catergory. But I cant find anywhere in the tables the connection between the parent_id and the subcatergories.

By this I mean categories_id 4 is subcatergory of parent_id 0 or something like that.

 

Anyone that can help me in the right direction?

I am having the same problem and would like to ask the same question. My Product List Filter shows the last 2 or so subcategories. I would only like to show the first (or Parent) category.
