rocky1234 Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 hi, I have password protected my oscommerce admin area via my web server. however i would still like to know how to view my oscommerce admin area username/password which i assume was setup at installation. I checked everywhere but looks like there is no clear answer. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks rocky1234
DejaVu Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 The information your looking for is your MySQL database. The Admin user ID there, but the password is encrypted. Hope that helps.

DejaVu Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I think the dead give away is - administrators Click that in PHPMyAdmin then click browse and it will show details. I'm not sure you can edit the password in there though as it's encrypted. But I guess you can try it. Better idea would be to add another admin before changing anything. Edit the new one in case you lose the admin account all together.
rocky1234 Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 I checked the phpmyadmin - but there is no admin table. there is not a single table that would give me a hint on where the admin crdentials are located. also i haven't seen anywhere in oscommerce that allows me to change my admin password or create a new admin account. If u found this then pls help me. Thanks again for your time.

Dependinding on where your admin is, where you see the admin as an unopened directory, there may be a .htaccess file. Go to edit that and it should come up with the user name and it lets you change the password without knowing what the old one is.
