how to make the file to be root?

i installed a new oscommerce into my webhosting, then I del off all the languages except english

then i also change my name n etc. then i used the addon file which is to reduce the image size.

 

which i need to modify the file /catalog/includes/functions/html_output.php

 

then i try to upload n save the file, then i went to my web, but there isn't any changes. try again n upload. then i found out i am unable to uplaod my file n it's changed to root..

 

i do not have access to the SSH... i am now waiting for the webhosting support to del off the whole folder for me.

 

i am just wondering what is the cause of it? i had also tried to install another new oscommerce n did the similar steps. and the error did not come out again!!!

 

this is the 2nd time I had encounter this... :angry:
