Embedding Flash for a newb.

I have my main page and lay out looking the way i want it to look, but in the place of the single pictures on the main page, i would like to add my flash advertisement that I made and have it centered on the page.

 

Here is the page where I want the flash just so you can see my vision

Now, when I save my flash file, I have multiple settings that I can save it as. I am assuming that the .swf is the proper file type to upload to my file manager.

 

My questions are

 

Where should i upload them to (whats the best file to use to upload them) and what is the path to that file?

 

Do you have an example of the code that I should use to embed it and center it on the page?

 

Any other info about adding flash (like your personal experience) would be greatly helpful

I checked your site, and it looks very nice.

Even though I personally do not have experience with Flash, may I ask if it would not work to simply add the Flash file in the first page (index), namely: catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php? That should go without problem, especially it you use Dreamweaver for edits of your osCommerce site.

In you place, I would first go the simplest way (embeding the Flash file into the index page - perhaps inside a cell in a table).

In any case, do remember to back up before making any changes - and let us know how you fared.

I'm still haviong issues with the flash..

, i wanted to upload the flash file to photobucket to try it out. I also wanted to use photobucket as a temp. host so i can just quickly embed it in other applications, like on forums..

 

With that being said, When i saved my flash file, it gave me a bunch of files that were saved along with it. I then saved for web and it gave me ONE .swf file. The swf file is the one that i was trying to upload to photobucket.

 

These are the files that automatically were generated when i saved my finished product:

advertisement_alternate.html

advertisement_content.html

advertisement.fla

advertisement.html

alternate.gif

flash_detection.swf

 

Now, i know that the advertisement.fla is the main file and the flash_detection.swf is a thing that will look for the flash player as the media player on the customer's computer, but i have NO IDEA what the alternate and content files are and why they are there.

 

I then created a swf by saving for web by opening the advertisement.fla and simply saving for web as a swf..

 

Now i have no idea what to do.

 

When i open the advertisement.fla in flash it works. When i open advertisement.html in a browser window it works.. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING?
