heading_title doesn't display proper definition

Hello

 

On index.php and index.php?cPath=18 (where this is the only category that has sub categories) the heading_title definition is simply displaying HEADING_TITLE'

 

I've looked at posts and checked for the language index.php being correct - it looks ok

 

Can anyone shed any light on this situation and/or tell me whereabouts in index.php the breadcrumb nav (i.e. top->catalog->category one) that way I can try to track it down as well
