Mr. Farrow Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Hello everybody! First of all sorry for my bad English - I'm not from englishspeaking country. I have two troubles. 1. My images don't display in the site (some of them display, but not correctly). I set permissions 777 to the /images folder. First I did it from FTP-programm FileZilla, after I have been spoken with support - and they set permissions 777, too. But it haven't worked correctly yet. 2. Second, I have troubles with /includes/configure.php Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/clients/******/domains/*****/html/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. I set like in manual - 644 or 444, but error doesn't disappear. I attached the scrin with all my problems. Thanks for all who will help me, I really need some help:)
Jack_mcs Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 For the images, right click on the missing image and select properties. It will show the path and image name of the image. Be sure the path is correct and the image exists. For permissions, use your hosts control panel. If that still doesn't work, then you need to contact your host to find out why. Mr. Farrow Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 I think I now why I have troubles... my /images folder have right permissions - 777, but all images in this folder have 644 permissions. Can it be a problem? And what permissions must have images in /images folder?
Mr. Farrow Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 I speak with my hosting support, they set 777 permissions to /images folder, but images don't displayed((( Why they don't displayed? I delete folder, ftp it a second time. set 777 permissions - but they don't displayed too.
Jack_mcs Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 It's unlikely the permissions. Did you check the path and file as I suggested. If so, then the problem is probably in the configure file. Guest Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I speak with my hosting support, they set 777 permissions to /images folder, but images don't displayed((( Why they don't displayed? I delete folder, ftp it a second time. set 777 permissions - but they don't displayed too. I had a similar problem, to resolve the issue I removed the .HTACCESS file and made sure the images folder and files were set to Read, Write, Execute for Owner and Group (this was done through FTPsurfer). This resolved the issue however I would not recomend removing the .HTACCESS as this left the admin area open, therefore I reckong CHMOD the files is step 1 in the solution and modifying the .HTACCESS to your server may fix the case. Before doing anything though make sure you backup everything :-)
Guest Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I've had this problem too. I called my hosting provider so on and so forth... Long story short, even if you change your permissions to 644 locally once you FTP them in they can or WILL get altered. So what do you do? Well you could try using a different FTP. I use Dreamweaver sometimes but I use CyberDuck for changing permissions (remotely) and it tends to download and upload your files faster than Dreamweaver. http://cyberduck.ch
