Order Status: Pending Check Clear ?

Ok, I had a customer pay me with an echeck today via paypal which takes 4 days to clear. My question is, if i update that order status to pending, it does not tale the product out of inventory. I have to select Status: Shipped before my inventory will change. Any ideas what to do with this?

Have you tried adding a new Order Status? "Payment Processing" or something like that.

 

Goto "Admin / Localization / Order Status" and click Insert. Here's the funny thing - there's no sort order to these things. So if you add a new status, it puts it in last place. The question is, if it's in last place, then does selecting it decrement your inventory? Maybe.

 

Worth a try. Not much to configure, just add a new Order Status.

Thanks, forgot about that!

I have noticed that some orders come through and the processing has a red X that the customer hasnt been notified and some have a green check mark that the customer has been notified. The ones not notified are the ones not coming out of my inventory. What would cause some to and some not to? Using paypal IPN.

The stock quantity will not be adjusted until the order is completed or "shipped" because until then the order is not complete.

Hmmm that explains why my inventory was rising when i was using the restock on processing orders when i canceled them. I wish it took it out the second it went through payment. Any idea why some orders are coming through without sending customer notification and some are?

The orders that say processing but dont have notified the customer checked are the ones that even when i change to shipped they for some reason dont take the inventory out. I have to do it manually.

 

So...

Processing: Customer Notified then status changed to Shipped = inventory taken out

Processing: Customer Not Notified then status changed to Shipped = inventory not taken out

 

I need to figure out why random orders are coming through and it is not sending the processing notification. That's what's messing me up right now! Arghhh. Someone help!! pleeeasseeee

I've encountered much the same problem.

Since inventory is not removed until eChecks clear, customers are able to order items which have already been sold, and when the e-checks clear we end up with negative inventory. Is it possible to subtract inventory immediately for pending eChecks (but not for failed PayPal / abandoned PayPal checkout...)? Is there any module?
