StinkyPETE Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I have had a site done by a web designer in OS Commerce. He has since not returned any calls, emails etc even though I know he is still about. The site involved is for a school the web address is below http://www.kcsshop.co.uk/ I wanted him to change the image on the bottom right (of 4) box on the home page to read something different. I supplied the JPG to him, I looked on the admin/contents and noticed that he had infact updated the picture but it had not changed on the homepage. So I create a new category and moved all the files into that category and deleted the old category. Now if you click on the bottom right box, not only has it no logo at all it says everything is empty. However the pulldown on the left of the site shows the category is there and if I add new categories they all go into the left side but none go on the home page main section. I have worked on macs for 20 years in illustrator, photoshop, quark etc and only looked at the OS commerce last week, I have quickly learnt how to add/replace pictures, add sections categories pull-downs all within 1 day. So hopefully I can rectify this problem if someone points me in the right direction. Thanks for your time A desparate Darren PS on a site note. The box in the bottom left (Clubs and Societies) is also not available in my admin/contents section that seems to be locked as well somewhere hidden, is this something to do with the slot 4 not being able to be changed??
♥geoffreywalton Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 It looks to me as if the category does not have the image associated with it. Go to your osCommerce admuin page. Click on Catalogue, Categories and products. Then click on the Old king club line. Then edit. Now set the location of the image. (/images/oldkings.jpg) Another thing you might want to check is the access rights on the image. I created the images and placed them and it says that it is there. The bottom right currupted box (which is also empty) is linking to a box NOT in the categories section as the image is there and all the categories within it. It is as if it is a locked box placed over where a category box should be

StinkyPETE Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 Try changing permissions to 777. Where are the box permissions located. Maybe these are the reason. Is there a reason why the Clubs and Societies are not in the categories section. Is this because it is in a separate section on the left side of the website? Sorry about all the questions. I started using OScommerce and websites about the equivalent of 4hours ago :)

If your ftp program will not let you do it, use the file manger in your web hosts control panel.
StinkyPETE Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 All file permissions are okay. The problem is that it is displaying a box which is not there in the categories page
