help with virtual products, paypal...

Hi, Im trying to set up a shop that only has virtual products, (that is, no shipping). Also, because they are all digital products, (easy to just copy it and return it), I dont want to allow for refunds, and obiusly I want the customer to be able to download a product only when the payment has been really confirmed... i want to use paypal as payment method, (both if the customer has paypal account or if not, with cc but through paypal). i have a paypal business account.

 

I really need advice on how to do all this... to the moment, i have get rid of the shipping pages and the quantity dropdowns, and i have installed the paypal ipn module, but:

 

1.- Are the pays by paypal instant? i mean, can a customer just pay, return to my site and download the product ? and how do i enable the download when the payment is confirmed? (i dont even know if this can be done with oscommerce?)

 

2.- I have created test accounts at paypal sandbox, and i have made a test purchase (going to paypal to make the pay and then returning to my shop). all seems ok, but the order status in admin is "preparing (paypal ipn)". should it be "completed" or something like this? whats the normal process?

ps - im using oscommerce 2.2 rc1,

in admin configuration in downloads set to true(it is false by default).In product attributes add download and in options add YES.

Each product have to have the attributes set-up as download and yes.Do not mess with the price.Make shure that the filename it is exactly as downlodable file in download dir.That should work - I have zipped file for download and works fine.

thanks, i have done this, but now... when (and where) will the customer be able to download it? i mean, where's the link? i have tried this:

i have login in my shop as a test customer, add the product to the cart, go to checkout, (credit/debit card by paypal), redirects to paypal (sandbox), login & make the payment ok, redirects back to my site, and see message of "Your Order Has Been Processed!".

 

i suposse the condition to show the Download link, is a specific order status? if yes, which one? (i say this because im having problems (too :)) with paypal module, and the order status remains always as "preparing [paypal IPN]", i have tried changing it to other states manually in the admin, to see if i can see the download link anywhere, but still dont know where to find it...
