How to put custom text into the search box

I would like to type something like "Enter Magazine Title Here" into the search box on my website, and then as soon as someone clicks within the box, the text disappears and they are able to type in the title of the magazine subscription they are looking to purchase. Can someone point me in the right direction of the code?
