jami1955 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 AFter realizing that all the help posts in these forums were referring to a later version than what I had, I finally downloaded the version located here http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads which is Merchant v2.2 Release Candidate 1. That download consists of ONE directory called "catalog." The million dollar question is, does that directory simply get dumped into the Store directory.... or is that the new store? Should I just put the "catalog" directory into my store? Or, do I get rid of all existing files, and make "catalog" the new store? If so, why would oscommerce call it "catalog?" which is an existing directory in my existing store. This may seem painfully obvious except, I am not a php person really, just finding my way around this stuff. thanks loads, JSC Boulder Jamie/Boulder
Guest Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 In most cases, yes... you'd 'dump' the contents of the catalog directory into the root of your store directory. Whatever directory your website address 'points' to should be the one the catalog/index.php file resides in.

Why they called it "catalog" does not make sense but, on we go. Only other questions that occur are: 1. Is there any easy way of transferring the changes I've made, cosmetic mostly, to the new pages, or do I need to just go thru page by page and do it all manually? 2. Is this version going to work with the database as it is, or are there changes to the database also. If so, where will I find those changes documented? thanks, leanangle JSC Jamie/Boulder
♥geoffreywalton Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 The changes you have made are for an earlier version and just replicating them on a later version probably wont work. Try hunting through the extras directory, this contains some upgreade sql and instructions.
