The e-commerce.

Importing LARGE XML files into my product list.

I have found another supplier that I wish to add their product list.

They have supplied me with a live XML file that has ALL their product details and stuff in.

How do I intergrate these things into my site? Is there a contribution I should be looking for to do this?

My product list is already in the 1,500 region. But this new supplier will bump it up towards 5,000.

I dont really want to have to import this manually as it will take an age!

A quick search in google showed this thread

Summary is convert the xml to a csv file in format suitable for import via Easy Populate.

Then import using that contribution.

Enjoy

PS there are packages you can buy that will import XML into oscommerce but why do that?

I have EP installed already, but was hoping there was an easier way. Looks like this is still gonna take some time, but a feck of a lot quicker than doing them one at a time! :)

Just a thought but have you asked them for the file in csv or tab separated format?

Then it is just a case of importing it into an access db and exporting an Easy Populate format csv file.
