Apache2.2, PHP5, MySQL 5.0, OSCommerce2.2 on WindowsXP installation

Hello

 

I have installed Apache in the default location(C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2)

PHP is within the Apache folder.

MySQL is under Program Files and started as a service. The port is 3306.

OSCommerce is located under htdocs(C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\catalog)

 

Heres the installation scenario:

1. http://localhost/catalog/install/index.php gives continue button.

2. Clicking on continue shows to database server configuration page.

3. I enter:

Database Server : localhost

Username:root

Password:<<password>>

Database Name:oscommerce

 

The database oscommerce is created.

4. Click continue button.

On the left side of the screen the wheel rotates and rotates and rotates and .........

 

Can anybody provide a solution to stop the wheel from rotating and the OSCommerce system recognizing that MySQL is actually located at 3306 port and is running?
