email problem with aplus.net

Hello. Recently i moved my osc site to aplus.net shared hosting from a dedicated server. Whenever i set the option send emails to true from my control panel, i sometimes get internal server error 500 when an email must be sent to the client. Unfortunately i have no access to the error logs of the server and i have no idea of the cause of this. I have tried all the possible email settings (sendmail, smtp) and i have also downloaded and successfully used the smtp with authentication contribution. Although no matter what i have tried, either me or some of my clients get the internal server errors. When i set the option send emails to false, i get no server errors, but no emails are sent which is a main problem as you can understand. Any help would be much appreciated.
