comicsigotem Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Is there a way to make the popup image scrollable? I don't want to resize the popup cause not all of the images are the same so I'd just rather have the customer scroll if they wanna see the whole thing. So, how do I do this? Thanks for the help.
comicsigotem Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 Oh, Lord, I thought I found what to change by going into product_info.php and changing the popup attribute code by just switching scrollbars=no to =yes and now the produt pages are blank. I even went to change it back to what it was originally and they're still blank. What do I do?
comicsigotem Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 Okay, I was able to revert back to the default, but everytime I try and change that scrollbars function, the pages go blank and even when I copy and paste what I originally had in there, it won't go back to normal unless I overwrite the product_info.php file with the default one from osCommerce. So the question still remains, can I make the popup image scrollable? And if so, how?
germ Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 What progam are you using the edit your files with? If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. comicsigotem Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 Nothing, I just go into the File Manager. I really don't know anything about .php.
germ Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I assume you mean the File Manager within osCommerce? If so, that is your problem. Don't use it. It has it's flaws, as you may have discovered. Use your site's Control Panel File Manager (from your Web Host - NOT OSC!), or transfer the file to your PC and edit it with a text editor such as Notepad (NOT WORD!!!). You can use Wordpad if you save it as a "Text Document". If you edit it with the right program, you should be able to change "scrollbars=no to =yes " without the whole thing "going south" on you. ;) If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. comicsigotem Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 Oh nice, that sounds simple enough. When I'm editing in Notepad, do I just save it as a .php file and everything will be cool or do I need to take any precautions when editing in Notepad? I'm assuming it's like editing HTML in Notepad?
germ Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 If you edit it with Notepad, just click on File then Save and it saves it as the same name. Another thing you should do is make a backup copy of any file before you make any changes. Then if it gets messed up, you can replace the "messed up" one with the backup, and nothing is lost. germ Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 One precaution in Notepad - Be sure Wordwrap is OFF. At the top of Notepad, click on Format and be sure there is no check beside Wordwrap. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. comicsigotem Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 Oh man, it worked beautifully, thanks man, much appreciated.
germ Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Great!!! ;) I kind of figured you were using the Osc File Manager (or "Mangler" ;) ), and that's why I posted. I wanted to save you further grief and frustration... If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
