Different email recipient based on product attribute

Hi Everybody

 

I've searched and can't seem to find what I'm looking for and hoping that someone has had to do this.

 

I will have 5 different products in a category, and those 5 products will have an attribute "City". The city will need to dictate who will receive an email confirmation.

 

Has anyone done something like this? Basically, each attribute will have its own email recipient.

Bad idea because of the management of an email per attribute, or bad idea because the coding of the system would be difficult?

 

I was thinking of a table that would simply have product + attribute (unique) and then email address (and other columns if needed) and then an email notification that would send a copy of the order to the email address in the new table.

 

of course, I'm not a good enough programmer to do that - I just thought that that wouldn't be TOO hard and that someone might have wanted it or done it in the past.
