Adding Product Description under Product Name

I'm new here and am not a developer. I'm just a sales manager trying to get a bit better look on my site but don't know if what I'm seeking is possible.

 

I've searched the knowledge dbase as long as I could and have not discovered a topic that seems to come close to my query. I need to come up with a solution for my webguy as he just says it can't be done.

 

I would like to have our (motorcycle) 'product descriptions' to appear underneath the 'product name' field without having to click on the actual product to see it. Can this be done?

 

If you go to http://www.valleymotosport.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=91 you'll see that we have products listed in one of our categories but in order to view the descriptions of each product, you have to click on it. Some of my customers aren't aware you can click on the name to get a further description.

 

Anyone's help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I haven't seen anything like that but try searching the contributions and forums.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if you could hack the code for Product Listing and replace the code to display weight with the description.

 

Or just to think slightly differently have a line saying click on the pictue for more info.

Hi there,

 

One contribution which is really useful and may be appropriate on your category pages is the Products Short description contribution. Essentially is provides the ability to have a small description along with the image and price etc on the category pages.
