Store Database to work with OSCommerce

Hi everyone, I have a little problem.

The business I am designing a Online store for wants OSCommerce to work with there own store database, so when a product gets sold in store I would like it to reflect on the website, or when a price change happens on the store computers I would like it to update on the site.

They run a Linux based POS system, and want to upgrade, I highly doubt the current POS terminal database is going to be compatible with oscommerce. So, what can they use that will be compatable with it and allow real time updating? even if it isn't realtime, just an update they have to do at the end of every day that will update the oscommerce database with there instore database.

any help would be appreciated, thanks!.

I've heard Quickbooks can be used to do this.. but has anyone actoually done it? and how much of a pain is it to manage two databases??

If you're still looking for this, there is a company that makes a synchronization tool for QuickBooks POS and osCommerce. I couldn't remember the name offhand, so looked on Google for:

synchronize oscommerce quickbooks

and found T-HUB, one that I looked at a couple of years ago, and one called eCommerceConnector. Not sure if their current versions are any good or not, but it's worth a look.

There are also a couple of other POS systems that use the osCommerce database directly and do not need synchronizing. Google can find them too.
