Guest Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Although it's already somewhere on these forums I couldn't find an answer to this problem by searching (modifying the width of boxes). So, here is the answer if you want to modify BOX_WIDTH (left and right) Look in: /includes/application_top.php around line 79. Find: // customization for the design layout define('BOX_WIDTH', 125); // how wide the boxes should be in pixels (default: 125) And modify to suit your needs.
jmacdonald Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Width of left bar in Firefox is smaller than in IE. What is proper way to get left bar sized correctly so that categories aren't wrapped to second line? Renders fine in IE.

crazyjack77 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Hello, Thanks for yout tip on modify the BOX_WIDTH and i have been using this also on the older versions, but i seem to have a problem i have just installed the latest version on this site: osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2a The problem is when i change the size to 145 instead of 125 and save it... (yes it is 777 permission) nothing happens on the index and when i check the application_top.php again it the same as before 125... very strange... Any ideas how to make this work... ? Thank you..
VinnyH Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Thanks for the tip. I just went and reset my width to 140 and it worked fine. I'm using the latest fresh osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2a install. I'm not sure of why it didn't take for the poster above. Did you use the File Manager to access and change it? Best to All, VinnyH
rmsigns Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 hi, can you tell me why you need to change that number (125) for pixels? not sure if this is related or not but i've been trying to add my logo to the top box and it just comes out huge. i have tried to size it down in my graphics program but when i upload it i'm like.. ugh i can't put that up there..hahaa any suggestions? thanks mc

If its not saving, them your permission on the server may be at 444. Set it to 644 via the server filemanager. DO NOT make it 777 or you will be asking for trouble.
