FredB Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I'm very new to this and have a question. I want to figure out how to customize the look of an osCommerce store. In the knowledge base under "Changing the ocCommerce logo it tells you to do the following: Using your favorite FTP client, upload your logo to the /catalog/images/ directory of your store. Download the file catalog/includes/header.php and open it in a text editor. When I go to the catalog directory there is nothing in it but an empty index.html page and an images directory that also only contains a blank index.html page. There is no header.php page in the catalog directory. Should there be items in the catalog directory? Did my install go bad? I do have these directories in the root osCommerce directory. Any input would be appreciated as well as any pointers to where to find a good tutorial on osCommerce. For what it's worth, I'm hosted at HostMySite and installed osCommerce through the Plesk Control Panel. Thanks for any help. Fred
DaKorman Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Hey Fred; Sounds like it might be a bad install. I have 45 default images in my images directory, (plus now 80 or so of my product images are in that directory too)! Also - there are 7-8 other subfolders in there too. You might want to try to reinstall. -Kory

Fred The instructions are for a default install where the shop is installed in a folder called /catalog/ If its in the root , then it will be just includes/header.php Basics for osC 2.2 Design - Basics for Design V2.3+ - Seo & Sef Url's - Meta Tags for Your osC Shop - Steps to prevent Fraud... - MS3 and Team News... - SEO, Meta Tags, SEF Urls and osCommerce - Commercial Support Inquiries - OSC 2.3+ How To To see what more i can do for you check out my profile [click here]
FredB Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 Thanks for the assist. Leave it to me to have ended up with a non default install! So it appears that it really doesn't matter if the files are in the root as opposed to the /catalog. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions as I go. Thanks again. Fred
