angelsRock Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 hi.. if i want to add a new currency... which is POUND - what should i put for the value..?
angelsRock Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 1.0 I would think? huh .. is that the confirm value? what is the value mean actually?
DejaVu Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I've installed mine today to use GBP. If you need further help on how to do this please read. I'll walk you through it - First Login to Admin. Goto Localization > Currencies. Click New Currency Mine is configured - Title - British Pound Code - GBP Symbol Left - £ Symbol Right - Decimal Point - . Thousand point - , Decimal Places - 2 Value - 1.00000000 If you havent already, Tick the box to set Pound as default. Now, you need to edit the others (If you wish to use them) . I got these values from a currency convertor today. US Dollar. Change 'Value' to - 2.05061007 EUR. Change 'Value' to - 1.43238997 With Euro, I chose to change the symbol to - € If your not planning on using other currencies (US or Euro), I think you can simply delete them. Hope that helps and explains it in full. :)
martinstan Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 That's exactly right unless I suppose your default currency is say the $, then that would be 1.000 and pound would be 0.48816207. I hope that's right?

DejaVu Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Nope. Follow my walkthru above and your site will display only GBP correctly. martinstan's spanner in the works there has confused you. It's all to do with exchange rates. The exchange rate you are using in your country should always be set to 1.000000. The conversion from USD (If you home currency is US) to GBP is 0.48816207. But GBP (If you home currency is UK) to USD 2.05061007 It can admittedly get in depth, but as I said before, do everything in my first post in this thread and everything should run fine. :)
