 Hello everyone, let me start by saying osc is a great little program! (if you could call it little). The fact is the possibilities are endless. I started out knowing diddly squat about php or mysql, ran across osc installed it and played around till I learned the basics.

I have been working on site design and adding additional mods for a few months now and would appreciate any feed-back about design etc. from your point of veiw. All opinions will be taken seriously! I really want this to be a successful site when finished.

Its difficult to critique my own site from a customers point of veiw.

So all your help will be greatly appreciated.

I just began uploading product so there are not too many items to choose from at this point, but there is enough to get the general feel of the site.

the new site is located at http://www.rangelygifts.net

for test accounts please use [email protected] for the email address so I know to delete these accounts.

I plan to redo the entry page soon!

Thanks for your opinions!

Is this site live and in production?

If it is I can only offer one critical bit of advice - never say its under construction :)

Best thing you can do is make sure its 100% perfect before going into production. Saves your arse later on - we learnt the hardway.

Also, always check your signature file is up to date! Don't overpromise and underdeliver - site coming 31st October, for example.

Hi chardae,

the dates are in mygeekshops signature, just being cheeky.

I like the your site, some good mods and alot of functionality.

Personally, when I did my site I found that there was just too much going on. Too many boxes. I had to take the attitude 'just because you can doent mean you should'. For example does anyone benefit from a box telling you that there is currently no one on line?

I stripped alot of the boxes out and then modified column left and right to show certain boxes only on certain pages. Perhaps a feature in future releases would allow you to control what boxes appear where in admin.

I like your site, I just wonder if it is too busy.

Mine for what its worth is www.scalesexpress.com. I am in no way holding it up as an example of anything, its just a bog standard osc snapshot, hopefully with a less busy feel.

:o I've thought alot about that!

There are just so many great mods out there that I just couldn't help myself.

Once a user logs on the right column fills up with cart info, order history, gift voucher, wishlist, etc.....

I tried to even this out by adding to the left.

With so many products to add the mid section is left in the dirt(so to speak) without the side columns.

I guess I may need to rethink this a little!

Thanks for the suggestion!
