Move site from local to hosted server

I ask this before I mess everything up;

I'm running OsC local (after a lot of problems), but now it's time to move to a hostservice.

Thought at first I could move everything to the server, but cannot figure where to put the database, so probaly that's not a good idea?

As the experienced reader already understand - I am unexperienced.

I've spent a lot of hours feeding OsC with products, so I would like not to have to do it all over again.

Any good ideas, if so, thanks in advance ;)

The database has to be uploaded to the server once it (the database) is created using your hosts control panel. Some hosts will do this for you so you should ask them first. If they tell you they don't support oscommerce, then find a different host.

You can only edit the file. To see the results of the edit, you need to viww the file in a browser. You can do that by uploading the file to your server or using a local server as mentioned. You won't be able to do it with Dreamweaver.
