tt.pyro
I Have my site up and running however it is not setup exactly how i would like it to be. The product i will be selling on my site is custom computers, however i can't find a good way to set this up. I can add each part as an individual product to be purchased but this is not how i intend to sell things. I would like a way to make it so the customer can select a drop down menu and pick the part they want for each piece of the computer. (Hard drive size, case, ram, and so on.) if you need an example of something similar to what i would like click here. If any one has a suggestion i would be thrilled to try it. Thanks. -Garrett
germ
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that's kind of what this does: PC Pro Creator :) If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. tt.pyro
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that's kind of what this does: PC Pro Creator :) I looked at the support url that was included at the download area for that add on. However i have never used a contribs before. Would any one mind giving me a quick run down on how i use it? Once i download it where do i upload it to? My shop is currently at mydomain/catalog this contrib has a base folder named ppc-2006-08-24 and within that folder it has 4 sub folders: admin, includes, images, build. Should i place these files in my main shop's admin, includes, images, and build folders? or do they go into a new folder, such as mydomain/catalog2 Thanks for any help you can provide. -Garrett
germ
Maybe I have the wrong contribution... tt.pyro
Maybe I have the wrong contribution... Custom Computer Creator And the support thread: Custom Computer Creator Support :) Well thanks for your help, But i have read these threads again and it doesnt specify what i do with the folders :/ also both of your links go to the same place. So the question still stands, do i combine the folders that are with this contribution with the ones that came with my shop, or do i make a new directory and allow them to be on their own. Thanks
germ
Well thanks for your help, But i have read these threads again and it doesnt specify what i do with the folders :/ also both of your links go to the same place. Eau contraire... They're two entirely separate contributions. I haven't used either. I was merely assisting with information. I'm quite sure they both have installation instructions. When in doubt, follow the directions... Most contributions you just add to pre-existing folders. If a new folder is required, it should say so. :-" If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. I have found the attached read me and have been attempting to install the pc pro builder add on, however i get stuck on the second step. "add the Defines from admin/includes/languages/_english.php to english.php (for admin left column names)" can any one lend aid as to what this means exactly? as of now i have all of the files in my store root directory like it says to. -Thanks
germ
It appears they want you to take the data from this file of the contribution: admin/includes/languages/_english.php And add it to this file on your web site: admin/includes/languages/english.php If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
