Hi guys,

I've been away for a while, but I'm back to complain heavily about 2 checkout.com.

Once before they canceled several of my sales because they "couldn't read the names" - NOW, when I set up my account I was assured they could process Japanese transactions even though they are written in Japanese. Well after complaining to them they processed the transactions for me and apologized.

Well guess what happened again today? They canceled transactions because they couldn't read Japanese.

ARE THEY A BUNCH OF FRIGGIN MORONS?????????

Does anyone have a contact phone number for them - I need to scream at someone right now. This is unbelievable behavior.

Grrrr!!!!!

I used to have a number for them - I did a whois on their domain and the number isn't listed anymore. Anyone have a number?

I can't log into their forums because I don't have my merchant number here. Can I get it out of my OSC admin page?

Thanks

Paul

I can understand your frustration, but please try to use a civilized language. Take up the issue with 2checkout and tell us what happened but don't abuse our forums for company-bashing.

Um... friggin? Sorry, but I don't consider that to be uncivilized. You may be confusing that with the other F word. I don't swear, and so I don't say that word or use it to describe a person or company.

Additionally, instead of wasting board space by bashing *me* publicly you could have simply sent me a private email. You would then be practicing what you preach.

Finally, I don't know what the law is like in Germany, but in the US we have the 1st amendment, which gives me the right to speak freely - company bashing or not. I understand fully that the moderator of the site may censor a post that may be inappropriate or offensive, but it is my right to make that post.

Best wishes!

Paul

P.S. I love OSC and after my wife gives birth within the next 2-3 weeks, I will be back to contribute the way I used to. Thanks to everyone who helped me over the past year (especially Linda & Ian - you guys are the best!)

Here in germany we have verdicts that tell us if anyone of our users says something that someone else finds insulting the owner of the forum may get sued.

But that doesn't matter. You have an issue with 2checkout - fine. Our forum rules clearly indicate that we all should try to stay on-topic - with the topic being osCommerce.

Again - I can understand your frustration, but swinging the first amendment in this case is somehow ... disturbing.

And telling me I should contact you in private is also disturbing. Why are you allowed to yell in public at 2checkout and I am not allowed to yell beack in the same public? No first amendment for europeans? ;-)

When there is a problem with 2checkout - how can we help you in solving it? That would be something that is related to this community and to osCommerce. But simply bashing is of no great use for anyone.

As RMS once told: "The right to swing your arms ends at my nose" :-))

Well...in keeping with the off-topic thread that's been started here...

I have personally NEVER had a problem with 2checkout. They've paid me on time, every time since the day I joined. If you follow the rules (which incidently are 99% imposed on them by the banking industry - it's not just stuff they make up) then you'll be fine.

As usual, every company has a tiny majority that complains very loudly. Paypal has the same problem but it hasn't slowed them down one bit either. My advice would be to just find someone else if you're so unhappy.

Just felt the need to show the other side of the story.

Carry on........
