Guest
I've just installed and am setting up my website. When I press Tools in the admin area I get the following message... 2006 - MySQL server has gone away select languages_id, name, code, image, directory from languages order by sort_order [TEP STOP] 2006 - MySQL server has gone away select count(*) as total from sessions where sesskey = '91a5efd8eef912690f6afdb1579d3360' [TEP STOP] Everything else appears to work so far. Can anyone please ofer any ideas as to why this bit isn't working? Thanks Stu
Jack_mcs
It generally means something in the code was too much for the database to handle to it quit although it could be a server problem. If this is standard code and the only failure is in admin->tools, I would guess it is a database or server problem. You can try going into phpmyadmin and running a repair on the database. If that doesn't work, you could isolate the problem in tools by clicking on the various links there and then replacing the files for the one that is failing. Although I think I would start with asking your host to look at it. Guest
Hi Thanks for that - I'll look at admin - I can't get into the tools menu to check the links as the problem starts when I click on the tools tab. I'll see what happens thanks stu
