1. I suspect this redirect is not helping page ranking or search engines?

2. How do I fix this ?

1. I don't think a redirect with .htaccess hurts your ranking.

 

2. Move the shop to the root folder.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

(Where the redirecting .htaccess file is located now, I believe)

I am having redirect and works fine.In your host cpanel(or vdec) go to settings and click on redirect.Insert full path there and you will be set.
