Orders placed via Paypal IPN do not populate database

bittersweet

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm a newbie here. Things have been going pretty well with my web shop development so I knew sometime it had to hit the fan!!!

I've installed Paypal IPN contribution V2.3 which works fine, data is uploaded to Paypal and on completion emails are sent to the customer and the administrator. So whats the problem?

My order databases are not being populated. The only time the databases have populated are with the default credit card solution which I played around with earlier. I'm planning on only working with Paypal initially so have now turned off all other payment options. I'm also running an MTO operation so don't have stock levels and 'check stock levels' and 'subtract stock' are set to false.

I feel I'm missing something obvious here but would appreciate a helping hand.

On the same track can anyone tell me how to manage stock levels (eg goods receipting, etc) on the database for when I move to selling from stock. I can't find any information relating to this.

Thanks.

Digging aroound it seems my original thoughts are incorrect.

Orders are being created in the database with a status of 88889 - Preparing Paypal IPN.

So my question is slightly different.

Why can't I see the orders in Admin/Orders?

Why isn't the order status changing from 88889 when the transaction is completed in Paypal?

Hope you guys can help me out now I've narrowed down the problem a bit

I think you suffer from the same problem like a few other people and me, and it is pretty simple.

Once the payment is processed on the Paypal website, customers should push the button: "return to [shopname]". if they don't do that, the payment is processed, but OSC orders is not updated.

I think maybe it's paypal's way of pushing merchants to the $$$ pro solution!
