Change/Configuration in Database from mySQL5.0 to 4.1

Newb here with limited knowledge. (always a dangerous thing....)

 

When I started my store a while ago I did not know that I would be limited to certain mods if I used mySQL 5.0. I trying to find a way change my database that uses mySQL5.0 to something that uses 4.1.

 

First off, can it be done without blowing up the store?

 

I couldn't find anything in the myPHPAdmin from the server to be able to change the mySql version used on the original store database

 

What I have done so far is export the original database and then dump it into a new 4.1 database. Is there a set of steps that I can follow to get my store pointed/configured to the new database?

 

If the above is not a real option, does anyone know another way?
