More rows of products? How do I do this?

I would at the very least like to display 6 products on the page with the current template I am using. Actually ideally I would like to change the layout of how products are displayed so that there is one column and displays about a dozen products vertically, but for now I need to put more product on the page. Only showing three at a time is a bit limiting.
