tropiland
Please help!!!!! I accidentaly uploaded the index.php file of the "Google-XML-Sitemap-Feed" contribution to my domain/catalog instead of the domain/catalog/googlesitemap. as a result the original catalog/index.php is overitten and when I try to go to my store it gives me this error: "Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /hsphere/local/home/tropilan/e-smartliving.com/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server!" What does this mean and how can I revert to my old settings? How do I "reconstruct" my catalog/index.php file? Please, someone help because as of now I don't have a store running!!!!! Thank you in advance!

Nullachtfuffzehn
Don't you have the original index.ph stored on your local computer? If so, just upload the original one to your webspace and you should be good to go again.

How can I get another generic index.php file so I can start building up again? Thanx
Nullachtfuffzehn
Don't know which version of OSC you're running, but just download the complete installation package of OSC and extract the index.php upload it and you're good to go. What I don't get is why your index.ph has gone, since you wrote you just uploaded a wrong one. Don't you have a copy of all the files on your local machine to work on? Or were you using the admin file manager to make the changes (Which is not really recommended)?

Worked!!! with some minor issues that are easily fixed. For the future, is there an easy way to get copies of all the files into my machine? Also, when I go to Tools---->Database Backup it gives me a an error message as such : "Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php." What does that mean and how do I do this? Thanx 4 all your help!!!!
Nullachtfuffzehn
You should download all of the files from your webserver to your local computer. It'll take some time the first time you'll do it, but after that you only need to backup the files you've changed. Before you change them.... Save the downloaded files to a CD so they acan't be schanged anymore, so you'll always have a point where to start from when something goes wrong. And do it anytime before you start changing anything. What goes to the backups directory, it doesn't exist by default, so you got to create it on your webserver. You only need to make changes to your configure.php if the directory name is different than the suggested one (which is recommended).

Nullachtfuffzehn
By default the file is located at the /admin/includes/ subfolder. You need to change the following entry according to your settings: define('DIR_FS_BACKUP', DIR_FS_ADMIN . 'backups/');
